The Ambience

The hotel is located right by the Acropolis in a stylish setting.

The hotel has a modern and stylish design with decorative details, starkly contrasting the ancient ruins of the nearby Acropolis. The lobby has elegant marble flooring with geometric patterns, while the ground-level restaurant has black ceilings and a vibrant accent wall.

The rooftop restaurant has indoor seating with archaeological objects, attractive black-and-white prints, and neat seating arrangements. However, the main attraction of the rooftop restaurant is the outdoor terrace, which provides breathtaking views of the Acropolis.

The property’s use of moody colors and polished furnishings suggests that it is a Design Hotel. Despite its upscale nature, the atmosphere is not pretentious. Both business and leisure travelers are present, with a small corporate presence.

The Location

The hotel is located on pedestrian-only Dionysiou Areopagitou, just a five-minute walk from the ancient Acropolis.

The New Acropolis Museum and Acropoli metro (subway) are also nearby, each just one minute closer to the Acropolis. This area is part of Athens’ historic Plaka district, where you can find a mix of affordable and upscale bars and restaurants along with tourist stands.

The Temple of Zeus is a four-minute walk away. The Odeon of Herodes Atticus and Syntagma Square are six minutes further from the concert venue. To reach Monastiraki and Athens’ Greek Parliament, you would need to take a 15-minute walk or a shorter ride on the metro.

Taxis can be found nearby, and the streets around the venue are free of traffic. If you want to go shopping, the Ermou district is a 15-minute walk away, and the designer boutiques at Kolonaki are a 25-minute walk or a shorter metro ride.

The Athens International Airport is a 40-minute drive or a one-hour ride on public transport.

The Rooms

The rooms are spacious and peaceful, equipped with luxurious amenities, balconies, and bathrooms made of marble.

The rooms in the hotel are designed in a minimalist and modern style with walnut wood paneling, earth-toned drapes contrasting white beds, and suspended chrome lighting over circular nightstands. The carpeting is in muted grays and blues. Classic Rooms are 302 square feet (28 square meters), while Deluxe and Superior Rooms are slightly larger.

Each room has a smartly furnished balcony, and upgrading to one with a view of the Acropolis is recommended. The walls are adorned with classical Greek artwork, and upgraded rooms have Toshiyuki Kita chairs that add futuristic touches.

Rooms come with standard amenities such as phones, desks, HD TVs, safes, AC, and minibars. The rooms in lower categories do not have tea or coffee makers, whereas the Superior rooms come equipped with Nespresso machines and sinks.

To start at 430 square feet (40 square meters), suites come with living rooms and provide Acropolis views. The monochrome bathrooms are decorated with floor-to-ceiling marble and offer high-quality rainfall showers and Korres toiletries.

The bathrooms are complemented with wood-accented bowl sinks, hairdryers, slippers, and terry robes. Cribs are available upon request. Although soundproofing is generally decent, choosing courtyard-facing rooms will ensure a noise-free stay.

Features

The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast of high quality, as well as a rooftop eatery that boasts panoramic views. Additionally, there is a gym available for use. However, please note that there is  not  a spa or pool on the premises.

At Brasserie Modern, guests can enjoy a free a la carte breakfast with a variety of options ranging from Eggs Benedict and homemade granolas to Greek yogurt and French toast. Fresh-squeezed juices, tea, and coffee are also included.

The restaurant serves healthy Mediterranean cuisine for lunch. Although a patio is available, the seventh-floor roof terrace offers better outdoor seating.

Sense Bar & Restaurant is a great place for fine dining and breathtaking views. The bistronomic menus are refined but pricey. It’s recommended to book in advance, especially for tables with a view of the Acropolis.

The hotel doesn’t have a pool or spa, but guests are happy because of its great location and amazing rooftop views. The hotel has a small gym with Technogym machines but no free weights.

The meeting room can accommodate up to 20 people and is equipped with the necessary equipment. The hotel offers discounts for nearby parking lots, but most guests don’t have their own vehicles. Wi-Fi is free in the entire hotel.

Traveling to 🇬🇷 Greece soon?

I recommend these travel resources for Greece that I personally use:

🏨 Hotels: I have found that Expedia and Booking.com consistently have the best deals on hotels and resorts in Greece. If you prefer to stay at a vacation rental, check VRBO that is usually cheaper than AirBnB’s added fees!

✈️ Flights: To find the best flight deals to Greece, I always use Kayak. Remember to subscribe to their price alerts for the travel dates you want. Another great alternative for flight deals is Expedia.

🚗 Rental Cars: I always use and highly recommend Discover Cars because it allows me to compare several car rental companies and view ratings on various factors such as overall value, pick-up procedure, agent efficiency, car condition, and total time taken.

🚙 Airport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer from the airport and beetween destinations with Welcome Pickups. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.

🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Greece, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.

🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Greece. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.

📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. If you are interested in higher quality video and photography, I always carry with me on my trips and highly recommend the Sony A7IV which I think is the best travel DSLR Camera out there.

☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
