Travel Packing List
Plenty of people are making the most out of the summer by traveling to different countries. Travel insurance provider Allianz Partners states that the number of Americans traveling to Europe is expected to rise by 55% compared to last year’s figures. In fact, flight searches to Sicily have spiked by triple digits this summer, while other tourists have booked to Mediterranean destinations like Spain and Greece.

Unfortunately, the heat in Europe and the US is extreme this summer. So if you’re planning to travel to a destination with hot weather, here are the following items that you must bring:

Lightweight clothes

You’ll be more comfortable during your trip, especially if you wear clothes appropriate for the weather. Style expert Denise Caldwell recommends choosing clothes with versatile, flowy, and lightweight materials because they can help battle humidity and are practical for trips. In particular, Caldwell suggests using cotton and knit clothes because they are made of breathable fabrics. By choosing clothes with the right fabrics, you won’t feel too hot as you explore different destinations during summer.

Sunscreen

Sunscreens are also a must-have if you’re going to a place with hot weather. One of our articles emphasized that the temperatures in Mexico can reach an average high of 91°F in May, which is why tourists must be more careful in these areas. You’ll need to wear sunscreen from brands like Sun Bum, which offers broad-spectrum protection against the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. The brand also offers products compliant with the Hawaii Act 104 to ensure you won’t harm marine life due to sunscreen ingredients.

Sunglasses

Aside from protecting your skin, you should also shield your eyes from the sun’s harmful UV rays with sunglasses. You can get your designer sunglasses from brands such as Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Ralph, which can accommodate your prescription needs and offer additional protection from the sun. You can even get these sunglasses customized so that you can get polarized lenses that can reduce light glare or gradient lenses that are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Through these sunglasses, you can enjoy better visual clarity and protection during your vacation.

Hat

You can also shield your face from the sun by bringing a hat during your trip. Though baseball caps can protect your face, it’s recommended that you bring a bucket hat with a wide brim or a legionnaire-style hat because they can provide shade for your head, ears, face, and neck. You can even increase your protection by looking for hats with a minimum of UPF 30 to ensure its fabric effectively blocks 97% of UV radiation.

Cooling towels

The sun’s intense UV radiation isn’t the only thing to watch out for during trips. The hot weather can increase your susceptibility to dehydration and heat exhaustion. You can avoid experiencing these during your vacation by bringing cooling towels to keep you comfortable. New York company Mission creates cooling towels that can keep you comfortable, even if you’re doing sports or walking a lot during your trip. These cooling towels even come in artistic designs, which can help you look stylish even as you’re battling the heat.

Reusable water bottles

Apart from using cooling towels, you can also keep yourself comfortable by drinking water regularly. You can even cool yourself down by storing cold water in insulated bottles from Klean Kanteen, which can maintain the coldness of your drinks for as long as 47 hours. These bottles also come in 20 oz, 32 oz, and 64 oz variations, so you can store enough water for your day trip. These can even help you save money because you won’t need to buy drinks wherever you go.

You must pack for your comfort and safety, especially when you’re traveling to a destination with hot weather. This checklist will make it easier for you to remember the essentials you need to pack for your trip.
