The Ambience

The Yiannaki Hotel is situated on a hillside and has a traditional Cycladic appearance with blue shutters and a whitewashed exterior.

The lobby is simple and decorated with white slipcovered furniture, light tile floors, and an aquarium. There is a small business center with two computers and a printer, and one wall is covered with local tour and event postings. The pool deck has a rectangular pool and modern rattan loungers with thatched umbrellas for shade.

The Yiannaki has a nearby restaurant with picture windows and outdoor dining space on a stone terrace overlooking the pool. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the owner, Yiannis, is friendly and receives frequent praise from guests. 

Guests are offered fruit juice upon arrival, and honeymooners receive wine and fruit. While there is a heavy presence of couples due to the quiet setting, low-key families and traveling friends also feel comfortable at the Yiannaki.

The Location

The Yiannaki Hotel is located on a peaceful street off the main road that links Mykonos Town and Agios Ioannis on the western side of Mykonos. Just a 5-minute walk away from the hotel via a private path are both Corfos Beach and the family-friendly Ornos Beach.

Restaurants, bars, and a market are also within a short walk and a bus stop that takes a 10-minute ride to the town. There are several attractions to see in Mykonos, including the popular Paraportiani Church, which is the most photographed church on the island, and the iconic 16th-century Mykonos windmills.

Although some attractions require a short drive from Mykonos Town, such as the Hellenistic towers of Platis Gialos, which is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel, and the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani in Ano Mera which is about a 15- to 20-minute drive away. The Mykonos Island National Airport is also approximately a 10-minute drive from the hotel.

The Rooms

The rooms are clean and simply designed, and they come with balconies, minibars, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

The rooms at Yiannaki are clean and comfortable with plenty of natural light and a simple, coastal-inspired decor. The furniture is white and somewhat outdated, but there are pops of turquoise in the curtains and bed runners, as well as colorful photographs of Mykonos on the walls.

The armoires offer ample storage space and come equipped with safes, robes, and slippers. All the rooms come with furnished balconies that offer a view of the pool or the mountains. However, some rooms only provide partial views of the water from a distance.

The bathrooms come in different sizes depending on the room type. Although all of them come with shower/tub combos, they may be a bit outdated with blue tile floors and large single sinks.

Free Wi-Fi is available, and limited room service is offered. The rooms come with Oliva toiletries and wall-mounted hairdryers. Family rooms are the largest option, and they include a double bed, pullout sofa, and a large balcony accessible through French doors.

There aren’t many features at the Yiannaki Hotel, but there are enough to satisfy guests. First, all room rates include a free daily breakfast buffet consisting of a solid variety of hot and cold items.

The Aleka restaurant transforms into a candlelit dining spot serving well-reviewed Greek and Mediterranean cuisine at sunset. A poolside bar also serves drinks and light snacks throughout the day.

The saltwater pool itself is a highlight of the property and is large enough for light lap swimming. The deck made of stones has wicker loungers, umbrellas, a bench swing, and covered seating near the bar. For kids, there is a sandy play area close to the pool, and they receive a special welcome gift.

The hotel has a small, basic fitness room with a few cardio machines, weights, and an adjacent sauna. You can request massages and some beauty treatments. Parking and Wi-Fi are both free.

The Yiannaki is a hotel that has a warm atmosphere and is located in a peaceful area. It is just a five-minute walk to two beaches.

The hotel has 45 simple but pleasant rooms, decorated in blue and white. The rooms have minibars and balconies that overlook either the mountains or a big saltwater pool. Additionally, the hotel has a restaurant and bar that is located outdoors.

They serve a free daily breakfast buffet and a Greek cuisine a la carte menu in the evenings. The hotel is located within walking distance from bars and restaurants, and guests can reach Mykonos Town within 10 minutes either by hotel shuttle or by taking a nearby bus.

However, please note that the hotel does not offer water views or direct access to the beach. If you prefer to have beach views and a closer location to the beach, you may want to consider the Porto Mykonos Hotel, which costs more but has beautiful views of the Aegean.
