The Meliton is a hotel within the Porto Carras Grand Resort, which spans over 4,000 acres of land and features forests, more than eight kilometers of beach, and a marina. The resort offers many amenities, including multiple hotels, an 18-hole golf course, horse stables, a tennis club, conference facilities, and three helipads. A tram is also available to transport guests to different areas of the resort.
The Meliton Hotel is located on the beach next to the marina, offering beautiful views in both directions. The property is surrounded by lush forests, which create a peaceful and calm atmosphere, while tall trees provide shade and create separate areas for guests to gather. The hotel is further adorned with well-maintained shrubs and colorful flowers, enhancing its natural beauty.
The hotel’s interiors are also stunning. The lobby features a modern design with a minimalist style. There is a 360-degree fireplace surrounded by blue sofas, ornamental birds flying above a three-story wrought iron tree, and butterfly art.
These unique elements add interest to the neutral color scheme and simple furnishings. While it falls short of its advertised five-star rating, families particularly enjoy this hotel for its exceptional amenities and beautiful environment.

The location is a secluded area in the central peninsula of Halkidiki, which can be easily accessed by a short drive from a nearby small village.
Porto Carras is situated on the west coast of the central peninsula in northern Greece’s Halkidiki region. It’s a remote location with few nearby amenities, but it’s only an eight-minute drive from the small village of Neos Marmaras.
The hotel offers a shuttle boat service that takes guests to the village, where they can visit local restaurants, shops, and churches or catch a bus to other places. Karydi Beach, one of the best in Halkidiki, is located one hour by car and boasts stunning shallow waters and a serene atmosphere.
However, it is a more natural setting and may not cater exclusively to tourists. Thessaloniki, a major city with a port and airport, is approximately a two-hour drive away, providing transportation options.

The hotel rooms come with minibars and balconies, but if you choose to upgrade, you can enjoy a more appealing ambiance and a relaxing hydromassage tub.
The standard rooms are clean and roomy, but their modern decor is simple, with neutral colors and basic wood finishes. The higher-category rooms have more appealing decor, with stylish furniture, artwork, and better-quality materials such as hardwood floors. While still neutral, they are more upscale than the standard rooms.
The rooms can accommodate two people in a king-size or two single beds, and some rooms have a sofa bed for a third guest. The hotel rooms all have flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, and furnished balconies. Some rooms have beautiful views of the marina or sea. Upgraded rooms have additional living spaces, bedrooms, and bathrooms, some of which come with kettles, robes, and slippers. T
he bathrooms are mostly decent-sized, with a combined shower and bathtub with a curtain. However, upgraded rooms have hydromassage tubs, separate tubs and shower stalls, and a separate toilet cabin. Hairdryers are provided, and free toiletries include soap, shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.
The property has numerous upscale amenities, such as various restaurants and pools, a spa, and a casino.
The property of Porto Carras has many activities available, and the Meliton Hotel has various entertainment options. There are four restaurants on-site, and guests on the Dine Around program can access more dining options beyond the typical buffet style.
The main restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, and while many guests enjoy it, some feel that, given the price, the quality could be better. There are three restaurants in the hotel: a self-service lunch restaurant located on the beachfront, an exclusive breakfast and dinner restaurant only available to those staying in Executive Suites, and a cute café serving Greek and international dishes.
There are two stunning outdoor swimming pools available for guests to enjoy. The larger pool runs along the back of the property, featuring an indoor section that can be accessed underwater and a wading area equipped with slides. The pool deck is equipped with cushioned loungers arranged on tiered levels, offering sufficient space for privacy. A lengthy beach area is overflowing with cozy sunbeds placed under tiki umbrellas. The sand can be a bit coarse, but the shallow waters are incredibly safe for swimming, particularly for kids.
The spa offers various luxurious treatments, such as multiple pools, a whirlpool, a sauna, and a beauty salon. The indoor pool is open to children only in the afternoon, while it’s exclusively for adults the rest of the time. The fitness room overlooks the marina and is only for adults, featuring equipment for weight training and cardio activities.
The mini-club provides supervised activities for children, and there is a playground available for their use, although it might be worn. Meanwhile, The Meliton has a casino, a small shopping mall, tennis courts, and a mini-soccer field for adults to enjoy. Guests can also rent yachts from the marina. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, but some guests have experienced issues with its reliability.
The Porto Carras – Meliton is a high-end resort on a secluded beach, only eight minutes from Neos Marmaras village. The resort has many amenities on its large property, such as an 18-hole golf course and riding stables. The Meliton has a modern spa, casino, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and activities for children.
All-inclusive guests can participate in the Dine Around program, which offers restaurant choices. However, some guests feel that the quality of the food is not up to the resort’s luxury standards. There are 480 rooms available with minibars and outdoor spaces, although some may have simpler decor compared to higher-end options.

🚙 Airport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer from the airport and beetween destinations with Welcome Pickups. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.
🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Greece, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.
🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Greece. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.
📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. ☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
