Table of Contents
Discover Las Perlas Beach in Cancun. Cancun Mexico is extremely famous for having very idyllic beaches and absolutely breathtaking scenery. However, there are so many amazing beaches in Cancun that it is challenging to choose the best one. We do know this, though … Las Perlas Beach is a must-see beach when in Cancun.
Playa Las Perlas Cancun
Playa Las Perlas Cancun, or Las Perlas Beach Cancun, is located at the entrance of Cancun’s Hotel zone that is highly recommended for couples and families traveling with children.
Playa Las Perlas is located just 2.5 kilometers away from the entrance of the hotel zone of Cancun, and precisely because of this proximity, you can reach it by walking, biking, bus, car, or even rollerblades.
Playa las Perlas is named after the name of the hotel “Las Perlas,” which is the first one we found in Cancun’s Hotel Zone (map). The proximity to this hotel gave its name as a reference. Thanks to its shallow depth and calm waves, it has become the most popular family beach in the city.
Its location gives you the advantage of not having to wait for the buses from the hotel zone to be able to “return” to the center of the city, and if you are traveling by car, you don’t have to worry because this beach has parking.
In Playa las Perlas you will also find a small park for children, small cabanas for public use, showers, restrooms, and of course, lifeguards that will protect your physical integrity at all times.
Also, on this beach of Cancun beaches, you can find nearby rental boards for paddle boarding, surfing, and kayaking.
As a last extra piece of information, here you will not find many restaurants or street food vendors nearby, so it is best to go prepared to not go hungry and thirsty.
Should you visit Las Perlas Beach?
Most likely, you will spend your time basking at the beach of your resort or hotel, enjoying the exclusive areas for their guests with chairs and umbrellas. However, we recommend that you visit some of the fantastic public beaches as well, as they are well sought after by tourists there and even by the Mexicans themselves. Something you should also know is that most public beaches do not have kiosks or street vendors with tacos and beer, so food and drink in the locality, for example, will be on your own. Las Perlas Beach is a public beach!
Things to do at Las Perlas Beach in Cancun
As on any beach in the world, the first tip of what to do at Las Perlas Beach is to enjoy the crystal clear water and sun. As it is a very quiet beach with a very slow sea wave, it is possible to take a nap there, enjoy the local landscape, take some souvenir photos, and take a nice swim. If you are with the children, enjoy it even more, as the place is suitable for family outings and trips.

Traveling to 🇲🇽 Mexico soon?
I recommend these travel resources for Mexico that I personally use:
🏨 Hotels: I have found that Expedia and Booking.com consistently have the best deals on hotels and resorts in Mexico. If you prefer to stay at a vacation rental, check VRBO that is usually cheaper than AirBnB’s added fees!
✈️ Flights: To find the best flight deals to Mexico, I always use Kayak. Remember to subscribe to their price alerts for the travel dates you want. Another great alternative for flight deals is Expedia.
🚗 Rental Cars: I always use and highly recommend Discover Cars because it allows me to compare several car rental companies and view ratings on various factors such as overall value, pick-up procedure, agent efficiency, car condition, and total time taken.
🚙 CancunAirport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer with Cancun Airport Transportation. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.
🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Mexico, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.
🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Mexico. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.
📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. If you are interested in higher quality video and photography, I always carry with me on my trips and highly recommend the Sony A7IV which I think is the best travel DSLR Camera out there.
☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
