Petasos Beach Hotel & Spa, situated on the island of Mykonos in Greece, follows traditional Cycladic architecture with cube-shaped buildings, vividly painted doors and shutters, and whitewashed walls, typical of luxury resorts in the region. Its lobby has an all-white theme, designed elegantly like that of a design magazine.
The chic sitting area is accessible through white marble stairs, which is decorated with sophisticated white furniture and offer a view of the resort’s grounds.
The hotel features white upholstered benches with heart-shaped glowing lamps, a circular pendant-style chandelier, two large white sculptures of human faces by the blue mosaic-tiled reception desk, and staff wearing all-white uniforms to enhance the hotel’s chic appearance.

The property is located on a private peninsula situated between Platis Yialos and Psarou Beaches. From here, you can easily reach more remote beaches on the island by using a water-taxi service that operates at a fast pace.
The hotel’s name includes the word “beach,” and it has excellent access to the beach on the island. Petasos Beach Hotel & Spa is situated on a private peninsula between Platis Yialos Beach (approximately 100 feet away from the hotel) and Psarou Beach (around 500 feet away).
Additionally, a small dock is available where water taxis can take passengers (for a fee) to various other beaches on the island. The hotel is conveniently located for reaching both lively and peaceful beaches in Mykonos. Additionally, Greek and Mediterranean restaurants are available to the public on both nearby beaches. A local bus stops directly outside of the hotel and runs until late at night, providing transportation to Mykonos Town.

The Rooms
The rooms are clean and attractive, but they are not as remarkable as the public areas or the suites that boast private pools and stunning ocean views.
The hotel has two types of rooms: Classic and Standard. These rooms are on the ground floor and offer garden or sea views. They have tiled floors and a beach scene painted over the bed. A fun feature of these rooms is a window between the bathroom and bedroom. They are the most affordable rooms available.
The hotel also offers Superior and Deluxe Rooms, which have additional amenities such as jetted bathtubs, essential oils and body salts, and a steam room. To get bathrobes, guests must also make this upgrade for rooms that have sea views from small balconies overlooking private swimming pools in the suites. If you’re interested in an even more luxurious experience, the Diamond Suite has three bedrooms and four bathrooms, a private fitness studio, an indoor hot tub, and a beautiful swimming pool.

Features
Suitable amenities for a Greek maritime tycoon and fees for Wi-Fi. The breakfast has received good reviews, and guests can enjoy dinner with stunning views of the Aegean Sea on the veranda of the V.I.P. restaurant. The Le Club offers poolside service and cocktails. The Aqua Marine Spa covers an area of around 5,380 square feet with treatment rooms and indoor pools for traditional thalassotherapy treatments.
Guests can use the steam room and sauna for free at the spa. The fitness center was updated in 2014 to include a space for yoga. Although there is a small business area in the lobby with a notebook computer and printer, Wi-Fi usage incurs a fee. The hotel has a two-tiered outdoor swimming pool with a nearby whirlpool. It seems easy to find free sun loungers.
While two public beaches are accessible from the hotel, a private company will charge guests to use their loungers and umbrellas. If you request them, private chefs and personal trainers are available, but they come at an additional cost.
Bottom Line
Petasos Beach Hotel & Spa is a luxurious hotel on Mykonos, designed in the traditional Cycladic architecture style. It offers similar amenities to its competitors, such as a spa, pool, fitness center, and restaurants.
However, unlike its competitors, the hotel does not own any beach facilities. If you want to use a chair and umbrella on the beach, you will need to pay extra for it. For those who prefer a more active location, this place may be a better option. The beaches nearby are some of the most popular on the island, and there are several restaurants and shops in the vicinity.
Other properties in the same area are usually more secluded. However, note that the views on the hotel’s website are mainly from private suites, and not all rooms have that view. Mykonos Town is about two miles away, but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel entrance.

I recommend these travel resources for Greece that I personally use:
🏨 Hotels: I have found that Expedia and Booking.com consistently have the best deals on hotels and resorts in Greece. If you prefer to stay at a vacation rental, check VRBO that is usually cheaper than AirBnB’s added fees!
✈️ Flights: To find the best flight deals to Greece, I always use Kayak. Remember to subscribe to their price alerts for the travel dates you want. Another great alternative for flight deals is Expedia.
🚗 Rental Cars: I always use and highly recommend Discover Cars because it allows me to compare several car rental companies and view ratings on various factors such as overall value, pick-up procedure, agent efficiency, car condition, and total time taken.
🚙 Airport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer from the airport and beetween destinations with Welcome Pickups. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.
🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Greece, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.
🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Greece. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.
📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. If you are interested in higher quality video and photography, I always carry with me on my trips and highly recommend the Sony A7IV which I think is the best travel DSLR Camera out there.
☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
