The MarBella Corfu Hotel used to be called MarBella Beach Hotel. It underwent renovations that lasted for three years and ended in 2015, which turned it into a high-end resort. The hotel has 385 rooms spread across six separate wings and nine levels, which is why the renovation took so long.
New guests are given a map to help them navigate the complex, and they also receive a welcome drink upon arrival. The hotel is situated on a hillside, which means that there are many steps and stairways to climb, but this also rewards guests with stunning sea views from various angles.
The hotel, which dates back to the 1960s and is now run by the founding family’s third generation, has undergone a makeover resulting in a fresh and stylish Mediterranean appearance. The vast and well-maintained gardens feature lush lawns, vibrant flowers, and a variety of palm, olive, and pine trees.
The property features a tunnel underneath the street that provides guests with direct access to a stunning private beach. Additionally, there is a quaint Greek Orthodox church on the premises, which serves as a venue for weddings or blessings. The guests are typically split almost equally between couples of different ages, including some honeymooners and families with younger children.

The hotel is situated on a hillside with a beautiful view of the Ionian Sea on the east coast of Corfu. However, the location may feel isolated because there are only a few hotels, eateries, and bars within walking distance, and hardly any nightlife. Even though many people prefer to stay in the self-contained resort, transportation options are available.
The property provides access to hiking trails that lead to nearby villages and woods, which can be explored on foot or by bicycle. Corfu City, known for its UNESCO-designated Old Town and historic buildings, is approximately a 30-minute drive away. Corfu International Airport, also known as Ioannis Kapodistrias Airport, is about the same distance away.
The accommodations offer different types of views, such as the sea, garden, or mountains. Additionally, they feature open-plan bathrooms.
They have a modern and subtle decor with wooden floors and cozy details like reading lamps and floral bedspreads. There are stylish elements like cherry-red armchairs, leather benches, and striped wall accents that vary from room to room.
All rooms have furnished balconies or terraces with views of either the garden, mountain, or sea (some partial and some complete). The hotel has several room options available, including Double Rooms, Family Rooms, and Suites ranging from Junior to Presidential. The Family Rooms have a separate bedroom and a sofabed that can accommodate two children.
The Suites offer additional space, including two bedrooms and lounges, accommodating four adults and one child. The only difference between the Standard and Upgraded Superior rooms is the size.
The hotel provides different types of room amenities such as mini-fridges where you can find complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea making facilities, and 32-inch flat-screen TVs. However, satellite channels have limited options for English-speaking visitors. If you book a suite, you can also have access to a Nespresso coffee maker and minibar.
Additionally, some suites offer private pools or outdoor whirlpools that provide an amazing panoramic sea view. The Wi-Fi provided is suitable for emailing and using social media but may not work well for streaming videos.
The bathrooms have modern, clean, neutral-tone tiles with spacious vanities containing good-quality Apivita products. While some bathrooms have shower/tub combos, others have walk-in showers, and privacy could be a concern for open-plan bathrooms.
There are plenty of facilities available for eating, drinking, and that are suitable for children.
The resort has six restaurants and four bars offering a range of dining and drinking options. Guests can enjoy a half-board package that includes a buffet breakfast and dinner at La Terrazza restaurant, which has live cooking stations. A la carte options are also available, including Italian, Greek, seafood, and American diner menus, as well as beach and poolside dining.
However, guest reviews of the food have been mixed. Bars also offer evening entertainment with live music and Greek dancing.
The main pool for adults has an infinity edge, partial sea views, and saltwater, but it’s not heated and can be chilly at times. There’s a second quiet pool with fresh water, but it’s also unheated. Guests have mentioned that getting a lounge chair can be difficult as they tend to be reserved early in the morning.
The children’s pool has waterslides and a splash park, while a shallower pool is available for younger children. There are additional amenities available for children such as a supervised kids’ club, a teen club, and a nursery for babies and toddlers (which requires an additional fee). Guests can access a private beach that has loungers, parasols, and various water sports including scuba diving.
The hotel has a small spa that includes a sauna, steam room, and massage treatments. Yoga classes are offered daily, along with a “Special Aerial Yoga” program twice a week. The fitness room is equipped with modern exercise equipment, and guests can access sports facilities such as table tennis, pool tables, tennis courts, and canoes. However, the hotel plans to expand its spa in 2017.
The MarBella Corfu Hotel is a luxurious resort with 384 rooms situated on a forested hillside overlooking the Ionian Sea in Corfu. Although the area surrounding the hotel is not very lively, guests can enjoy various on-site restaurants, bars, and leisure facilities.
The resort has a range of activities for kids, while adults can relax at two pools, and a spa, and participate in water sports on the hotel’s private beach. The rooms are contemporary and bright, and some include private pools, while others offer stunning sea views.

☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
