Dreams Riviera Cancún

Dream Riviera Cancun is an all-inclusive resort located next to the majestic Caribbean Sea, Mexico and surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens. The resort offers luxurious accommodation and excellent service. It also has great amenities for kids and impressive facilities. However, we should note that there aren’t many attractions or activities outside the resort in the surrounding area.

The Location

To get to Dreams Riviera Cancun from Cancun International Airport, take a taxi for a 20-minute ride. The resort is located in a beautiful area with limited amenities, so if you intend to visit Tulum or Xcaret, consider renting a car as taxi fares can be costly for longer trips.

The Ambiance

It’s really refreshing to come across a lobby that feels like the one at Dreams Riviera Cancun – it’s spacious with an Asian-inspired design. The wooden roof and golden columns create a unique and enjoyable atmosphere.

The Rooms

The guestrooms at Dreams Riviera Cancun are elegant and roomy, with luxurious touches throughout. Each room comes with a spacious balcony or terrace, air conditioning, and ceiling fans. Most suites have an indoor Jacuzzi, while some also have an outdoor Jacuzzi or a plunge pool on their private terrace. You can enhance your stay by booking the Preferred Club program, which includes access to a private beach lounge and other amenities.

The typical bathroom layout includes vanity sinks positioned directly behind the bed, adorned with unique mirrors and wooden furniture. The room also features a standalone shower and a luxurious jetted tub. Additionally, many bathrooms have an outdoor Jacuzzi on the terrace, which offers some breathtaking views of the Caribean.

The Pool

The resort offers three swimming pools and two outdoor Jacuzzis along with the beautiful Caribbean Sea for guests to relax and refresh. The pool area has an infinity pool with a beach view and comfortable Balinese beds and loungers. Guests can enjoy the customary poolside bars. However, the highlight of the resort are the trendy whirlpool tubs that come with gorgeous wooden decks. These details elevate the resort to a whole new level.

Restaurants and Dining

This hotel offers a large variety of dining options including a buffet, a grill, and six a la carte restaurants. One of the options is Bordeaux, which is an upscale restaurant serving delicious French gourmet dishes. Another option is Oceana, which is located by the ocean and serves interesting seafood specialties. The hotel also offers gluten-free dining options upon request, which shows their attention to detail. Please note that this is an adults-only hotel.

Pelicanos offers delightful seafood and Mexican dishes, along with amazing ocean views and a laid-back atmosphere. On the other hand, Spaghetino is a popular Italian restaurant known for their tasty pasta and pizzas.

Bars and Drinking

Although the Rendezvous is a stylish lobby bar with breathtaking jungle views, many people come to tropical destinations to enjoy exotic cocktails at swim-up bars, such as Manatee. Dreams features a total of six bars and lounges, which provide an excellent drinking scene.

Unico Beach is a beach club bar that takes only 7 minutes to drive to. It’s known for its trendy atmosphere as well as swings and exotic tropical cocktails. If you’re looking to experience the famous nightlife of Cancun, Coco Bongo is the perfect place for you. However, it’s a 45-minute drive away.

The Spa

The Dreams Spa by Pevonia is a beautiful spa with cabanas surrounding a large hydrotherapy pool in a tropical setting. The facilities have a nice mix of charming and sophisticated elements. What’s unique is that there are treatments available for kids, such as a chocolate body wrap and papaya soothing facial.

The Gym

Dreams Riviera Cancun offers a fitness center with ample strength machines, treadmills, and stationary bikes as part of its wellness package. Although the setting may not be as impressive as other areas of the hotel, the gym is well-equipped and fully functional.

Traveling to 🇲🇽 Mexico soon?

I recommend these travel resources for Mexico that I personally use:

🏨 Hotels: I have found that Expedia and Booking.com consistently have the best deals on hotels and resorts in Mexico. If you prefer to stay at a vacation rental, check VRBO that is usually cheaper than AirBnB’s added fees!

✈️ Flights: To find the best flight deals to Mexico, I always use Kayak. Remember to subscribe to their price alerts for the travel dates you want. Another great alternative for flight deals is Expedia.

🚗 Rental Cars: I always use and highly recommend Discover Cars because it allows me to compare several car rental companies and view ratings on various factors such as overall value, pick-up procedure, agent efficiency, car condition, and total time taken.

🚙 Cancun Airport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer with Cancun Airport Transportation. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.

🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Mexico, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.

🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Mexico. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.

📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. If you are interested in higher quality video and photography, I always carry with me on my trips and highly recommend the Sony A7IV which I think is the best travel DSLR Camera out there.

☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
