The Ambience

De Light Boutique Hotel is a modern hotel situated on the peaceful Agios Ioannis Bay. It has breathtaking views of the sparkling blue waters of the bay and Delos Island.

The hotel is surrounded by wildflowers, grasses, and shrubs, adding to the tranquil atmosphere. The hotel has a three-story building with contemporary Cycladic-style design, which is common in Mykonos.

The building is white, with light blue doors, shutters, and railings. It looks great against the backdrop of the vivid blue bay and the infinity swimming pool. The same view is available from the restaurants, lobby-level balcony, and all the suites.

The hotel mainly caters to wealthy leisure travelers, including many couples. The peaceful atmosphere is particularly enjoyable, especially when the island is crowded in peak season.

The Location

Our location is in the beautiful Agios Ioannis Bay, and it’s only a five-minute walk from the beach.

De Light Boutique Hotel is located in the Agios Ioannis Diakoftis area, which offers a peaceful view of the Aegean Sea’s Agios Ioannis Bay. This area is not the same as the lively, historic towns that most visitors to Mykonos prefer. It has only a few casual restaurants and cafes close by, offering a slower pace.

The hotel is just a five-minute walk from the nearest beach, and several other beaches in the area can be reached by car. Ornos Beach is a five-minute drive away, Paraga Beach takes 15 minutes, and Paradise Beach is a 20-minute drive from the hotel.

Armenistis Lighthouse is also a 20-minute drive. For guests who don’t have a car, there’s a bus that stops outside the hotel and goes to Mykonos Town.

Mykonos Town is a 10-minute drive away and offers a variety of attractions such as restaurants, bars, nightclubs, museums, shopping along Matoyianni Street, the famous Mykonos Windmills, and historic houses in Little Venice that are built over the water. The hotel is conveniently located 10 minutes from Mykonos Island National Airport and 15 minutes from Mykonos Ferry Port.

The Rooms

Our suites are roomy and come with modern bathrooms equipped with advanced technology. Additionally, each suite features a balcony that offers a stunning view of the bay.

De Light Boutique Hotel has a total of 18 suites, all designed with a bright and modern style featuring contemporary furnishings and a clean layout. The color scheme is mostly white and beige, with accents of rose and pink, violet and purple, and black and brown.

The suites range from 323 to 861 square feet (30 to 80 square meters) and include both dining and sitting areas, with some even having sofa beds. The plush white cotton bedding is accompanied by striped bed throws and cushions.

All the suites have private balconies or terraces with views of Agios Ioannis Bay. Some suites also have outdoor jetted tubs or private infinity pools. All the suites come with amenities such as free newspapers, safes, CD players, air-conditioning, tea and coffee-making facilities, minibars, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, and a selection of English channels.

The bathrooms are spacious, stylish, and equipped with premium bath products, bathrobes, and slippers. The bathrooms may include jetted tubs, high-tech jet showers, and steam cabins.

Please be aware that there are smoking rooms available for booking, and a fee will be charged for guests who want to bring their pets. Additionally, the room will be cleaned and prepared for the night twice daily.

Experience an infinity pool with a view of the bay and a bar located by the pool, and indulge in fine Mykonos cuisine.

At De Light Boutique Hotel, you can enjoy a stunning freeform infinity pool that overlooks Agios Ioannis Bay and Delos Island. The pool deck is spacious and includes a bar and restaurant that serves refreshingly delicious exotic cocktails, fresh juices, and light tare.

Additionally, you’ll enjoy a complimentary a la carte breakfast with a nice selection of Mediterranean and American breakfast items like bacon and eggs.

The primary restaurant offers a view of both the pool and bay and specializes in contemporary healthy versions of classic Mykonos dishes, with a focus on seafood and fresh, seasonal ingredients. A variety of Greek wines are offered, and guests can choose to dine outdoors, have a romantic candlelit dinner, or order room service 24/7.

The hotel has a spa on site that offers massages, a hot tub, and a steam room, but there’s no fitness center. However, a health club in Mykonos Town is open to the public. The hotel provides a public computer, free welcome drink, wedding services, baggage assistance, butler service, and free parking.

The staff can assist with arranging restaurant reservations, tours, excursions, sailing trips, and car and ATV rentals. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.

Bottom Line

De Light Boutique Hotel is a four-pearl hotel located on the picturesque Agios Ioannis Bay.

Though it’s peaceful and calm, it’s only a little over a 10-minute drive from Mykonos town’s nightlife and attractions. The hotel boasts 18 spacious suites equipped with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and balconies or terraces with stunning bay views.

Some of these suites also have a jetted tub and high-tech showers. One of the highlights of the hotel is its bay-facing infinity pool and poolside bar. Additionally, it offers a small spa and a fine-dining restaurant with Mykonos cuisine.

An a la carte breakfast is free and includes a nice number of options. Nearby Saint John Hotel Villas & Spa has similar facilities and is cheaper, though it’s a little more old school.

Traveling to 🇬🇷 Greece soon?

I recommend these travel resources for Greece that I personally use:

🏨 Hotels: I have found that Expedia and consistently have the best deals on hotels and resorts in Greece. If you prefer to stay at a vacation rental, check VRBO that is usually cheaper than AirBnB’s added fees!

✈️ Flights: To find the best flight deals to Greece, I always use Kayak. Remember to subscribe to their price alerts for the travel dates you want. Another great alternative for flight deals is Expedia.

🚗 Rental Cars: I always use and highly recommend Discover Cars because it allows me to compare several car rental companies and view ratings on various factors such as overall value, pick-up procedure, agent efficiency, car condition, and total time taken.

🚙 Airport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer from the airport and beetween destinations with Welcome Pickups. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.

🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Greece, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.

🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Greece. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.

📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. If you are interested in higher quality video and photography, I always carry with me on my trips and highly recommend the Sony A7IV which I think is the best travel DSLR Camera out there.

☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
