Blue Palace, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa - An Honest Review
Table of Contents
The Ambience
This resort is located on the seaside and features a contemporary Cretan style that is bright and breezy.
The Blue Palace resort is located by the sea and has modern buildings spread across a large area filled with olive and pine trees. Since the resort sits on a hill, visitors can see breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and Spinalonga Island from almost anywhere on the property.
The lobby has high ceilings, chandeliers, and large windows that let in natural light from the Aegean Sea. The lobby design is inspired by a historical palace in Heraklion. The atmosphere at the hotel is peaceful and calm, but occasionally they do throw parties to add some excitement.
However, due to its location on the seaside hills, it may take a while to reach the beach and main pool either by walking or riding the funicular. Nonetheless, most guests don’t seem to have a problem with it. The resort attracts affluent travelers who enjoy the luxurious and spacious rooms, fantastic amenities, and beachfront location.
While Blue Palace does have a kids’ club, it may not be the ideal choice for families with young children because of the rocky beach and deep water.
Additionally, keep in mind that the rates for the resort are expensive, even when compared to other luxury properties, and there may be additional fees for various amenities. It might be a better option for couples or adults.

This property has a seafront location, and it is just a five-minute walk away from Plaka as well as the boat to Spinalonga.
The resort is located on a hill that slopes down to the Aegean Sea and there are several other resorts nearby. It’s a quick one-minute drive or less than a 10-minute walk to the village of Plaka, where there are taverna restaurants.
Tourists can take a boat to Spinalonga Island from here. Elounda town is a little bigger and offers shops, restaurants, bars, and nightlife. It’s a 10-minute car ride away. It will take approximately 20 minutes to drive to both the Diving Centre Blue Dolphin and Elounda Beach.

The Rooms
The rooms feature island decor that is elegant and bright, which gives a feeling of spaciousness.
The Blue Palace has 251 units that are located in two-story buildings and separate villas. They have a modern island style, with colors that reflect the sea and sand to create a bright and open atmosphere.
Each unit has different decorations, and the higher-level rooms have better designs that may include wicker chairs, half-canopies, and blue-and-white tilework. All the units have flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, air-conditioning, comfortable beds, and are cleaned twice a day with nightly turndown service.
However, some rooms do not have coffee and tea-making facilities. In the rooms that do have them, there is a fee to use the Nespresso machines. While Wi-Fi is free in the villas and some suites, it costs extra in most other units, and the connection can be unreliable.
The bathrooms made of marble are spacious, bright, and clean, offering plenty of counter space. Certain upgraded rooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs and separate soaking tubs or showers.
The accommodation options at this resort vary from Superior Suites and Bungalows to villas with multiple bedrooms, and some have sea views and private pools. The more luxurious units usually have features like jetted tubs, DVD players, four-poster beds, and living rooms.
Villas may have private car parking, fireplaces, gardens, outdoor dining and barbecue areas, indoor pools, saunas, massage areas, fitness equipment, video game consoles, and iPod docks. Butler service is also available if requested.

Traveling to 🇬🇷 Greece soon?
I recommend these travel resources for Greece that I personally use:
🏨 Hotels: I have found that Expedia and Booking.com consistently have the best deals on hotels and resorts in Greece. If you prefer to stay at a vacation rental, check VRBO that is usually cheaper than AirBnB’s added fees!
✈️ Flights: To find the best flight deals to Greece, I always use Kayak. Remember to subscribe to their price alerts for the travel dates you want. Another great alternative for flight deals is Expedia.
🚗 Rental Cars: I always use and highly recommend Discover Cars because it allows me to compare several car rental companies and view ratings on various factors such as overall value, pick-up procedure, agent efficiency, car condition, and total time taken.
🚙 Airport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer from the airport and beetween destinations with Welcome Pickups. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.
🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Greece, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.
🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Greece. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.
📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. If you are interested in higher quality video and photography, I always carry with me on my trips and highly recommend the Sony A7IV which I think is the best travel DSLR Camera out there.
☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
