Aside from its breathtaking beaches, awe-inspiring cenotes, and picturesque jungle, Tulum is renowned for its music festivals – something that appeals to every fan of electronic music. From Deep House to Techno and Progressive to Electro, the range of styles on offer guarantees a memorable experience for all who visit!
Although Tulum has been a hot destination for music events in recent years, especially during the global pandemic, there has unfortunately been a dip in new events due to cancellations such as Departure just last January.
As you can see, we have included events from both Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, as these cities are only a short drive away (45 minutes to an hour and a half). Therefore, it would be foolish not to include them on our list!

Tulum’s sizzling electronic music festival was all set to be the talk of Mexico with huge names like Black Coffee, Camelphat, Yotto, and Nora En Pure ready to take over this extraordinary 5-day event. Unfortunately, due to the new Covid restrictions imposed by the government, it had to be canceled at very late notice. Nevertheless, some of these acts did not let that stop them from showing their skill and hosting private gigs in alternative locations. Will we see a return next year? Only time will tell!

Zamna is the biggest and most important festival in Tulum. Every year, the popular music festival Zamna takes place in Tulum and features internationally renowned DJs who play techno, house, and electronic music.
From February 17th to 21st, 2023, you can attend the Awaken as Love Tantra Festival in Tulum, Mexico.
The ticket prices for Zamna festival start at $80 for early bird general admission and go up to $1,996 for backstage passes. Additionally, there are ticket options available for $100, $200, and $300.
The greater Cancún region is known to have four active drug cartels: the Sinaloa Cartel, the New Generation Jalisco Cartel (also known as CJNG), the Gulf Cartel, and a smaller group called Grupo Regional. Grupo Regional consists of former members of the Zetas cartel and local street gangs.
Whether you’re in the mood for jungle raves, beach day clubs, electronic music nightclubs, grungy hostel parties, or exclusive Tulum parties, Tulum has it all covered, ensuring that you won’t be disappointed with the nightlife options available.
December and January are the peak travel season and the best months for nightlife. During this time, bars and clubs are bustling and some stay open as late as 4:00 a.m. The atmosphere is festive and lively, but not as wild as during spring break in March.
If you want to save money and avoid crowds, consider visiting Tulum during the shoulder months of May, July, and August. During this time, local hotel rates and airfare to the Riviera Maya are usually lower.
To avoid crowds, budget travelers can plan their visit to Tulum during the low season, which is from May to June and from September to November. During this time, there may be heat and rain, but this causes the number of visitors to decrease.
The Latin music festival featuring Karol G, Christina Aguilera, and Tini Stoessel will be held at the Quinta Vergara Amphitheatre in Viña del Mar, Chile from February 19th to 23rd. The ticket prices will begin at $60.
The Day Zero Festival takes place at a confidential jungle venue approximately 30 minutes northeast of Tulum City. The location, which is consistently Cenote Dos Ojos, is not disclosed until shortly before the event.
The attendance record for the Tortuga Music Festival was set at 103,000 people.
The fifth annual event attracted over 103,000 people who wore sunscreen and sandals. The event showcased an impressive lineup of performers, such as Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Nelly, Alan Jackson, Chris Stapleton, Slightly Stoopid, and Maren Morris.

🏨 Hotels: I have found that Expedia and Booking.com consistently have the best deals on hotels and resorts in Mexico. If you prefer to stay at a vacation rental, check VRBO that is usually cheaper than AirBnB’s added fees!
✈️ Flights: To find the best flight deals to Mexico, I always use Kayak. Remember to subscribe to their price alerts for the travel dates you want. Another great alternative for flight deals is Expedia.
🚗 Rental Cars: I always use and highly recommend Discover Cars because it allows me to compare several car rental companies and view ratings on various factors such as overall value, pick-up procedure, agent efficiency, car condition, and total time taken.
🚙 Cancun Airport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer with Cancun Airport Transportation. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.
🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Mexico, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.
🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Mexico. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.
📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. If you are interested in higher quality video and photography, I always carry with me on my trips and highly recommend the Sony A7IV which I think is the best travel DSLR Camera out there.
☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
