Where to Find Best Massages in Playa del Carmen

About Spas and Massages in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen is an incredible vacation spot that offers a range of massage options. The best spa experiences are found at luxury hotels and resorts. These spas are open to outside guests, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. In addition to these, there are also mid-range standalone spas that offer quality services for a more affordable price. However, these may not have all the amenities and facilities of the luxury spas.

To find the least expensive massages, try searching along Fifth Avenue or the beaches in Playa del Carmen. You may be approached numerous times for a massage while walking along Fifth Avenue. “Masaje” is the Spanish word for massage.

Veronica’s Massage Gold

Calle 26 & 1st Avenue

At this charming spa, Veronica strives to help people achieve physical and spiritual well-being through harmony. Experience this for yourself!

Each one of the rooms in Veronica’s Massage Gold is separated by a big sliding door, so you can enjoy a private massage.

At this holistic facility, the skilled staff will provide you with excellent services using only the finest methods and unique blends of essential oils, including blueberry and clementine-rose.

SPAzul

Constituyentes & 1st Avenue, The Royal Hotel

SPAzul is located inside Royal Hotel and is one of the very best Spas in Playa del Carmen.

SPAul offers rejuvenating massages that have been popular among the public. However, the cost of a massage is slightly high because of the state-of-the-art amenities, luxurious surroundings, and world-class masseuses available at the spa since its opening.

Their Relax Massage starts at $55, and it’s definitely worth the price. The luxurious spa offers more than just a regular massage – it’s a complete experience. While waiting for your masseuse, you can take advantage of the complimentary Jacuzzi, sauna, and cooling dip pool, which will help you relax and get into the pampered mood.

Inti Beach

Calle 4 & The Beach

Inti Beach provides a tranquil setting for restoring your inner peace. Visitors can indulge in a rejuvenating massage either under the massage palapa with a beachfront view and the soothing sound of waves, or on the wooden balcony surrounded by trees overlooking the beach club. The basic massage costs $25 for one hour and additional features may be added for a fee.

Bric Spa

Calle 28 & 10 Avenue

Bric Spa is popular among locals and tourists because of their all-natural products. They use fresh herbs from their own garden to infuse their oils. The therapists are trained to provide personalized treatments to help you feel comfortable and relaxed.

At Bric Spa, you can experience a massage menu that is truly unique. The spa specializes in using ancient techniques that originated from Mayan culture. You can choose from many different types of massages such as a Mayan herbal massage, a Shirodhara head massage for rejuvenation, or a traditional deep tissue massage to release stubborn knots.

Best Massage

Calle 14 & The Beach

If you’re looking for a great place to get a amazing massage, Best Massage is highly recommended by expats and locals alike. The staff is really friendly, prices are affordable, and the massages are amazing. Plus, the location right on the beach offers a beautiful backdrop for your massage. Keep in mind that the massage place is a simple palapa-style structure near the beach, so it may be easy to miss but definitely worth finding.

For the best massage experience, consider requesting Lily or Vanessa, who are two-star masseuses at Best Massage. However, keep in mind that they don’t speak English, so might be good idea to learn the Spanish words for ‘softer’ and ‘harder’. The massage place is reasonably priced at $20 for a 70-minute session, and many customers become regulars.

Botica Spa

Plaza Paseo Cobá

The Botica Spa, located at the entrance of Playacar, is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon being pampered. The spa’s attentive staff pays great attention to detail, from the soothing smell of the reception area to the use of all natural soaps and oils. They also offer detoxing tea and water at the end of your massage. If you’re looking for a romantic experience, the spa’s signature 80-minute couples massage is highly recommended and unmatched in Playa del Carmen.

Alma Thai

Calle 32 & 25 Avenue

Although it may appear similar to a physiotherapist’s office from the outside, Alma Thai is actually a center that specializes in Thai Massage. The massage treatments are designed to alleviate pain, stiffness, and other physical discomforts. Even though some people come seeking a relaxing massage, many end up leaving feeling revitalized and rejuvenated.

Cristian is a skilled Thai massage practitioner. He is able to customize each session to suit the individual needs of his clients. The price for a Thai massage and full-body treatment is $55. Jungle Salon

I discovered a wonderful place called Jungle Salon / Spa Playa del Carmen. They offer a large variety of services such as nails, massages, anti-aging, hair, and education, making it a one-stop-shop for all of my beauty needs.

If you’re not fluent in Spanish yet, you’ll still be easily understood by everyone in this place because they all speak perfect English. Unlike many spas in Playa del Carmen, this place values community, and they even offer a chill-out area if you’re not quite ready to leave the jungle after your treatments.

Compared to other spas in Playa del Carmen, they don’t only offer anti-aging treatments. They collaborate with you to develop a skin care program that might incorporate Botox and fillers, but they always provide suggestions on how to enhance your diet and support treatments with periodic facials and sun protection.

These are the treatments available:

– Manicures and pedicures

– Body treatments

– Facials

– Massages

– Anti-Aging services such as PRP facials, Botox, fillers, and more

– Hair services

– Eyelash services

The prices for different services keep changing and there are frequent special offers. The approximate cost range for a manicure is $200 pesos and a basic facial costs around $800.

Okomo Spa Playa Del Carmen

I really like this spa in Playa del Carmen and it’s my personal favorite. Since I am a member, I visit here at least once every week. The spa has a hydro room with facilities like sauna, steam room, cold showers, cold plunge pool, and a pool with water jets that will help you relax after a long day of work.

I recommend visiting this spa in Playa del Carmen. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the price includes soft drinks. I would suggest trying one of their tea infusions. Even if you’re only staying for the day, consider booking a massage or other treatment since it includes up to two hours in the spa. While it may not be the best spa I’ve ever been to, it’s certainly the best one in Playa del Carmen.

If you are an expat in Playa del Carmen or if you are a digital nomad who plans on staying there for a few months, you should ask about the spa memberships. These memberships can last for 1 month up to a full year and they offer spa services such as massages and facials, yoga classes, access to the gym and rooftop pool area, and a 20% discount on all services.

I have tried multiple spa treatments in Playa del Carmen and they have all been delightful. They have a relaxation room that you can sit and enjoy before and after your spa treatment. Once you’re finished, they offer you a beverage and you can continue to relax there until you’re ready to leave. It’s total bliss.

They offer the following treatments:

  • – Manicures and pedicures
  • – Body treatments
  • – Facials
  • – Massages
  • – Hydrotherapy
  • – Yoga

Cost:

To access the hydrotherapy area for 2 hours, the cost is approximately $400 pesos. My suggestion would be to choose a massage that includes access to the hydrotherapy area. The price for a 30-minute massage starts at $800 pesos.

Opening Hours:

The hours of operation are from 9AM to 10PM every day of the week.

Traveling to 🇲🇽 Mexico soon?

I recommend these travel resources for Mexico that I personally use:

🏨 Hotels: I have found that Expedia and Booking.com consistently have the best deals on hotels and resorts in Mexico. If you prefer to stay at a vacation rental, check VRBO that is usually cheaper than AirBnB’s added fees!

✈️ Flights: To find the best flight deals to Mexico, I always use Kayak. Remember to subscribe to their price alerts for the travel dates you want. Another great alternative for flight deals is Expedia.

🚗 Rental Cars: I always use and highly recommend Discover Cars because it allows me to compare several car rental companies and view ratings on various factors such as overall value, pick-up procedure, agent efficiency, car condition, and total time taken.

🚙 Cancun Airport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer with Cancun Airport Transportation. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.

🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Mexico, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.

🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Mexico. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.

📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. If you are interested in higher quality video and photography, I always carry with me on my trips and highly recommend the Sony A7IV which I think is the best travel DSLR Camera out there.

☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
