Overall, it was a fantastic mid-range hotel.
The stayed in at the Sheraton had a great view of the Angel of Independence and was equipped with a comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom, and fast wifi that I needed to work on my blog. The rooftop pool had even better views and was always empty when I went there. The hotel also had a good breakfast, gym, restaurant, coffee shop, and facilities for events and conferences.
A solid option for a brand-name hotel in central Mexico City with a reasonable average nightly price would be the Sheraton Mexico City Maria Isabel.
If you’re visiting Mexico City and plan to explore its attractions, it’s a good idea to stay in the Centro Historico, particularly near the Zocalo. The Mumedi Design Hotel is a small yet stunning boutique hotel located in this area and is considered the best option available.
This small boutique is managed with attention to detail. It offers comfortable beds, in-room coffee service, and a restaurant, shop, and museum downstairs. Mumedi has several stylish rooms with balconies overlooking the city’s busiest pedestrian street, but the soundproof windows are incredibly effective.
Booking a room at Mumedi can be a challenge since there are only 6 rooms available. If possible, I suggest booking the Deluxe Suite with Bathtub which has one of the biggest hotel bathrooms I’ve ever seen. This is a recommendation based on my experience as a hotel reviewer.
The Sofitel Hotel in Mexico City is a luxurious resort and one of the best in the city. It offers a touch of French living and is located in Reforma, Mexico City. The hotel has 275 guest rooms, including 56 suites, which are beautifully decorated and offer exclusive amenities. Additionally, the hotel provides stunning panoramic views of the city.
The rooms have French-style decoration, a desk, floor-to-ceiling windows with automatic curtains, L’Occitane products and a Nespresso coffee machine that guests can use themselves. Plus, the hotel has other amenities like an indoor pool on the 38th floor, a fitness center, and a spa that combines French influence, new methods, and local pre-Hispanic customs.
The location of the place we stayed was ideal for us. It was a short walk away from some of the top restaurants and taquerias, and provided us with breathtaking views of the city. The pool and other amenities were outstanding, and we enjoyed spending our afternoons there.
You have three restaurant options to choose from. One of them is Bajel, which is located on the 13th floor. Bajel offers a rotating menu that features traditional Mexican cuisine made with fresh, seasonal, and locally-sourced ingredients.

It offers exceptional customer service and unique amenities that you won’t find in other 5-star hotels in the city, and boasts a Mexican-modern architectural style.
This property has a Four Diamond Award and features a modern architectural design with comfortable rooms equipped with essential amenities. Additionally, the hotel offers unique amenities like a spa, boutique shops, fitness center, large pool area, and a Kids Club. Families visiting Mexico City will find Camino Real Polanco to be one of the best hotels for their stay.
At Camino Real Polanco, you can enjoy world-class dining with a choice of 10 on-site restaurants, including options for coffee, Japanese cuisine, and the Beefbar steakhouse. This hotel, designed by architect Ricardo Legorreta, is renowned for its beauty, modern amenities, and museum-quality art and sculptures. It is often referred to as a hotel-museum due to its unique color scheme and design.
During my recent stay at Le Meridien Mexico City, a Marriott hotel on Paseo de la Reforma, I enjoyed the upscale and contemporary apartment-style rooms, with elegant design and large windows that provided spectacular views of CDMX’s top attractions.
Compared to other hotels in Mexico City, Le Meridien stands out for their spacious suites that resemble full apartments. My suite had a separate living room with a large sofa and a huge HDTV. Additionally, there was fast and free wifi, as well as a great workspace with a desk and chair, which I really appreciated.
There is a gym and an indoor swimming pool with a jacuzzi downstairs. I had dinner at the hotel’s Mexican restaurant, and found it to be enjoyable. In my experience, Le Meridien is one of the best hotels in Mexico City, and I would be happy to stay there again.

With only three rooms available- El Patio Suite, La Luna Suite, and La Terraza – La Valise offers the pinnacle of exclusivity. The La Terraza room features a king-sized bed that can be rolled out onto the private terrace, providing guests with an opportunity to sleep under the beautiful night sky.
If you’re seeking an exquisite aesthetic for a romantic escape, then La Valise could be the ideal hotel for you. It’s worth noting that La Valise is responsible for one of the most amazing hotels in Tulum. However, there are only three suites available, so it’s recommended to book a room as soon as possible, as availability is limited.
For those on a budget, Hotel Stanza is a great choice, offering a prime location in the popular area of Roma Norte at an affordable price.
To be straightforward, Hotel Stanza has some parts that reveal its age. Nevertheless, it adds a touch of vintage charm to the Mexico City vibes. My friend Rob had stayed here lately and was notably satisfied with the breakfast buffet (additional charges apply), the meticulous assistance, and the optimal location, only a few steps away from the finest restaurants, bars, and nightlife of the Roma Norte district.
The JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City in Polanco is an excellent choice for travelers seeking a luxurious 5-star hotel. The hotel combines classic and modern styles and is particularly ideal for Marriott Bonvoy members. Guests have praised the hotel for its spacious rooms, beautiful views, gourmet dining, large pool, fitness center, and attentive staff.
Although the hotel mainly serves business travelers, its proximity to Polanco’s numerous shops and restaurants, as well as its location away from the busiest areas of the city, also makes it an ideal luxury hotel for a city getaway.
The Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico, located in the historic center of Mexico City, is a renowned hotel with a beautiful interior courtyard that is decorated with intricate details. Even if you are not staying in the 5-star hotel, it is worth visiting to admire the stunning Tiffany stained glass ceiling.
This hotel has gained high praise for not only its prime location and beautiful Instagram-worthy environment but also for its remarkable views overlooking the main square of the city, the Zocalo, as well as its exceptional 5-star service and generously sized rooms.

🚙 Cancun Airport Transportation: For the fastest and easiest way to travel, I suggest arranging a private transfer with Cancun Airport Transportation. Honestly, no better way to travel from the airport to your hotel or resort.
🤿 Tours & Activities: For tours and activities in Mexico, I highly recommend using either Viator or GetYourGuide. These websites offer a full refund if you cancel your booking 24 hours before the start of the tour, and they also provide excellent customer service in case of any issues.
🚨 Travel Insurance: I always suggest purchasing travel insurance as a precaution before traveling, especially after a recent accident in a taxi in Mexico. For short trips, I recommend Travel Insurance Master, whereas for digital nomads, Safety Wing is a better option.
📷 Best Camera for your trip: I always carry with me a GoPro, It’s light, compact, takes great video and pictures, and most importantly, it’s waterproof! You just can’t go wrong with one. If you are interested in higher quality video and photography, I always carry with me on my trips and highly recommend the Sony A7IV which I think is the best travel DSLR Camera out there.
☀️ Biodegradable Sunscreen: Remember to include a good sunscreen to protect yourself from the summer sun. I always use and suggest Sun Bum Sunscreen, which is vegan, reef-friendly, and cruelty-free.
