Land and sea activities? Check. 24-hour room service? Present. A private terrace or balcony for every guest room and suite? Absolutely. Despite all these amenities and its location in the heart of Cancun, Secrets the Vine Cancun isn’t the priciest resort in the city.
Which was what convinced us (me and my girlfriend) to plan our stay there. Apart from the above amenities, what made us a fan of this resort is that each room features a complimentary minibar. You also get a sleek terrace where nobody can see you. What more can you ask for!
Iberostar Selection Cancun is to families what Secrets the Vine Cancun is to adults. That said, this resort has many things you won’t find in its above counterpart.
Think of 10 luxurious swimming pools, a world-famous 18-hole golf course, and a waterpark with a pirate ship.

If you are going there with kids, make sure to visit the separate teen and kids club. Apart from including the above pirate ship, this club has slides and loads of other activities to keep your little one(s) occupied for hours. So that mum and dad can get some much-needed ‘us’ time.
Have you heard of hydrotherapy? A fancy name for water therapy, it requires you to exercise in a pool and rewards you by offering pain relief and improving blood circulation. If this is something that sounds fun, you have an extra incentive to visit Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Resort.
Apart from regular hydrotherapy sessions, this place hosts a full-service spa, multiple swimming pools and at least 7 dining options (there can be more, but these were the ones we checked out during our time there). And if you have little miscreants with you, check out the babysitting services.
One visit to Le Blanc Spa Resort will tell you what luxury is. Located close to our top pick, this opulent 260-room resort makes your eyes pop with its white sand beach, two swim-up bars, and a spa where you can get hydrotherapy sessions for free.
Its excellent pampering service will take you to the seventh moon. But you’ll have to come down to taste the diverse cuisine, which includes French, Japanese, Italian, and of course, Mexican (we had some excellent tacos).
Start with the luxuries. The Live Aqua Beach lets you relax at the beach with fully cushioned cabana beds. Not in the mood to get some sun? Then relax poolside at one of its seven pools. Not sure what you want out of this place? Give the place’s lap and infinity pools a try.
Then come amenities. Live Aqua offers stunning guestrooms with private balconies, flat-screen TVs with 24*7 cable, and fully stocked minibars. The place’s suites go one step ahead by having bathrooms with hydrotherapy tubs, as well as double-wide terraces.
There are multiple things my family loved about this place during our stay there. One of which is the fact that this resort has its own playground and water park. Though we also had plenty of fun at one of the four swimming pools on this property.
If you ask what I liked the most as an individual, I’d have to side with this resort’s room service. The staff there is so attentive to your requests that you’d feel yours is the only family there. They even assist you in buying tours around the city. Best of all, almost all of them speak English.
Free dining at buffet and a la carte restaurants. More alcoholic beverages than you can drink in a year. Live music and cultural performances. There aren’t many resorts that offer all these three amenities. The fact that Hyatt Zilara Cancun does should let you guess how pricey it will be.
If you have deep pockets, make sure to spend at least one day in this resort. Apart from the above amenities, its breathtaking ocean views, unique daily activities, and world-class fitness centers will force you to get the credit card out and extend your stay here.
There are three things I always look for when selecting a resort for a family stay. These include a wide range of family-friendly amenities. Interconnecting rooms so that the entire family stays in front of my eyes. And childcare facilities so my girlfriend and I can have some alone time.
Wyndham Altra Cancun has it all. In addition, this resort has a dedicated game room, pirate-themed splash park and water slides to keep the little ones occupied. All the while adults busy themselves in tequila tastings or getting free hydrotherapy sessions.
Technically speaking, this adults-only resort isn’t located within the premises of Cancun. It lies between the popular tourist destination and Riviera Maya, a resort district south of Cancun. Why, then, am I asking you to leave the city behind and move to the countryside?
Start with the spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea that this place offers. Then comes the place’s suite rooms, which delight with their fully-furnished balcony and walk-in shower for two. Its vast cuisine options (this resort lets you choose from 8 restaurants) should also convince you to leave Cancun.
Sun Palace Cancun is where you should be if you want to impress your date. How can I be so sure? My girlfriend told me she loved the place. That isn’t to say that I liked it less – the resort’s luxury accommodation and gourmet cuisine blew my breath away, too.
Another thing that should delight couples is that most rooms have ocean views. They also have a premium balcony, whirlpool tub, and SmartTV. However, given that the resort has three infinity pools, a spa, and multiple watersports options, you might not be spending much time in the rooms.
Want to get an idea of how kings lived back in the day? Then you should book your stay in the Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres. This 5-star resort’s pricing might blow a hole in your pocket, but you and your family members will check out of here with a smile stretching from ear to ear.
Two swimming pools and a spacious garden will greet you on your entry. Once inside the building, you’ll be led to an air-conditioned room with all the amenities you could ask for. However, the fact that only a few rooms offer sea views out of the terrace may prove to be a deal-breaker.
Are you looking for an affordable escape in Cancun? Won’t mind a loud party next door? If so, Hotel Riu Palace Las Americas will be perfect for you. This resort has everything the best Cancun resorts are famous for. That too at a price that won’t hit you hard in the pocket.
In addition to its 350 guest rooms, Riu Palace has 3 pools, a nightclub, water sports, and a gym. You’d also get to visit seven restaurants, including Italian, Japanese, Mexican, and more. An ice cream parlor, four bars, and a coffee bar are also waiting to welcome you.
Paradisus Cancun will always be one of my favorite family-friendly resorts in Cancun. Not just because it has a kid zone that I don’t know whether myself or my little one loved more. The place’s accommodation also had such an effect on me that I’d always go back there.
Apart from its king-sized bed and uber-comfortable flip flops, the rooms here delight you with a view of either the Nichupte Lagoon or the Caribbean Sea. Another thing I like about this resort is its fully-furnished gym. So, you can’t use the excuse of being on holiday to get out of shape.
There are four things this resort offers that most of its rivals don’t. The first is full-sized kitchens where your entire family can cook and eat with room to spare. Another is that the larger suites come with in-room spas, meaning you won’t have to get out of your room to spoil yourself.
A billiard room is another amenity that distinguishes this resort from its competitors. Furthermore, unlike many other places, The Royal Sands offers easy beach access. My girlfriend and I were able to feel sand under our feet within less than five minutes of leaving our room.
What happens when you’re staying at a place with your kids? You guessed it: you make sure that they stay occupied for hours. For, if they are having a bad time, say goodbye to the idea of enjoying your stay, regardless of how luxurious the place is.
Aware of this fact, the higher-ups of Riu Palace came up with the RuiLand Entertainment Program. This is a bouquet of activities involving water sports, indoor games, and friendly competitions so that the little ones can have an excellent time in this resort.
Whether you’re visiting Cancun with your family or friends, staying in the city’s best all-inclusive resorts will help you make the most of your time there. Remember, though, that rooms in the above resorts don’t stay unoccupied for long. So, make sure to book accommodation months in advance.
